our why

The Youth Impact Foundation exists to drive meaningful change in youth mental health, wellbeing, and leadership. We provide impactful experiences for young people, teachers, and communities across Australia and Aotearoa, New Zealand, through camps, in-person programs, and digital resources.

Young People

Youth Charities

We believe in an equitable future where all young people thrive and have access to support and programs that allow them to care for themselves, their peers, and their communities.

Critically, over 50% of our programs reached young people facing barriers to accessing support including those in nine remote Indigenous communities.

Over 50% of all program participants come from our three priority cohort focus areas. We increase equity and access for young people in these cohorts through financial support of their participation, their schools participation and where appropriate relevant travel costs. This financial support comes from one of our three scholarship funds directly addressing each cohort.

A World Where All Young People Flourish, understand their influence and impact the world selflessly

To achieve this vision The Youth Impact Foundation delivers evidence-based preventative mental health and wellbeing programs across camps, programs, and digital formats. These are offered in schools, communities, and families, with subsidised access for people experiencing disadvantage.

We grow our impact by consolidating youth mental health charities, which increase affordability and access to high-quality, life-changing mental health programs for youth.

The Youth Impact Foundation is a DGR 1 registered charity with the ACNC.

The Challenge

Despite numerous well-intentioned efforts, rates of youth suicide and mental ill-health remain alarmingly high, particularly among disadvantaged and marginalised young people.

This persistent and worsening crisis indicates the need for a more effective, collaborative, and scalable approach.

In Australia, suicide is the leading cause of death for those aged 15-24;

How We Create Change

Direct Impact Through Scalable Programs To Young People

Sector-Wide Transformation Through Collaboration and Consolidation

One Organisation. Many Brands.
Lots of Impact.

Recognising the inefficiencies of duplication across the sector, we are building a scalable, open-source model that creates economies of scale, empowering the entire youth charity sector and maximising impact. We achieve this by:

Strategic Consolidation

Through a rigorous due diligence process, we integrate organisations aligned to our mission,  into the Youth Impact Foundation. Our centralised service model provides shared service delivery of programs with experts in facilitation and event management helping organise and deliver programs. This model also provides talent retention, succession planning, and professional development opportunities.

Fostering Collaboration

We actively build relationships with other youth organisations and facilitate a network for resource sharing, knowledge exchange, and the creation of communities of practice that strengthen the sector.

Sustainable Funding Model

Our model is further strengthened by growing social enterprise revenue streams. Currently, over 60% of our revenue comes from program and delivery fees. We are actively working to increase this number to 95% of social enterprise revenue by 2030 to help ensure long-term sustainability by reducing the reliance on funders.

Maintaining Brand Identity and Achieving Efficiencies

Integrated organisations retain their brand identity and program delivery within the Youth Impact Foundation family of programs while realising significant benefits, including a 20.51% reduction in operating costs, a 57.47% increase in revenue, and a 17.59% increase in net profit (in relation to sales), leading to funding diversification, long-term sustainability, and greater capacity for innovation.

This model demonstrates our cyclical approach to systems change.

By reducing the number of fragmented charities and fostering sector-wide collaboration, we:

  • Support impactful programs to grow and thrive.
  • Create economies of scale to enhance service delivery.
  • Improve funding diversification and sustainability.
  • Embed and enhance success factors across brands.
  • Undertake consistent and improvement-oriented monitoring and evaluation so we learn what works best.
  • Provide more opportunities to access life altering programs to disadvantaged young people.

The brands of The youth impact foundation

Each of our brands at The Youth Impact Foundation used to be a stand-alone organisation. Through our unique model and after a rigorous due diligence process they have integrated into the Foundation whilst maintaining their program delivery and brand to the market.

Each brand delivers an increasing number of protective factor focused strengths based  programs that equip young people with the tools, knowledge,  and confidence to thrive.

and many other generous individuals, families and foundations who wish not to be named.
